2012 Election: Filing Opens Dec. 13 for Hazelwood's Mayoral Race

Those planning to file intent to run for mayor of the City of Hazelwood must do so by Jan. 17, 2012, at 5 p.m.

Filing for the mayoral seat is officially set to open on Dec. 13 at 8 a.m. Nominating petitions should be picked up at the city clerk's office, at Hazelwood City Hall.

Possible candidates must collect no less than 50 and no more than 100 registered voter's signatures of their petition.

Candidates must also be at least 21 years old, and a registered voter. They must also have lived in the City of Hazelwood for at least two years immediately prior to the election.

The mayoral position is a three-year term. The election to decide the new mayor will occur April 3, 2012.
