Woman Hurls Beer Bottles at Bartender Who Had Declined Her Service

Hazelwood Police said Ashley Scott, 22, became angry and threw the bottles at the woman, cutting her lip and breaking two teeth.

A woman who threw two beer bottles at a Hazelwood bartender who refused to serve her is facing criminal charges.

Ashley T. Scott, 22, of the 5300 block of Gladstone Place in North County, was charged Thursday with second-degree assault.

Hazelwood Police said Scott ordered a drink from the bartender at about 12:35 a.m. on Aug. 5 at Classics Bar & Grill in Hazelwood. The bartender told Scott she couldn’t serve her if she didn’t have an ID.

Police said Scott became angry and picked up two empty beer bottles and threw them at the bartender, cutting her lip and breaking two of her teeth.

The bartender identified Scott from a photo lineup, according to a court document.

When Scott was arrested earlier this month, she told police she could not recall being in Classics Bar that day and denied assaulting the woman.

Scott is being held in the city of Hazelwood jail. Bail was set at $50,000.
