Would-Be Robber Puts Gun to Person's Head for Money, Police Say

Tyree Valdez and another person attempted to rob a person at North Hanley Drive and Santa Bella Drive, according to the Hazelwood Police Department.

A man is accused of holding a gun to a person’s head Saturday in the City of Hazelwood and demanding money.

Tyree Valdez, 26, of the 2700 block of Mullanphy Lane in Florissant, was charged Monday with first-degree attempted robbery and armed criminal action.

The Hazelwood Police Department said Valdez, acting with another, put a gun to a person’s head and demanded money at 10:10 p.m. Saturday on North Hanley Road at Santa Bella Drive.

Police said when Valdez was arrested he had the handgun.

Valdez is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $100,000, cash only.
