Police Blotter: Women Assaulting Police Officers, and A Man Who Fell Onto the Interstate

This police blotter reflects incidents the Hazelwood Police Department responded to from May 17 - June 26. It includes crimes including theft, home invasions, drug arrests and more.

JUNE 26

PROTECTIVE CUSTODY: A woman was taken into protective custody after she was found drunk and laying on the ground in White Birch Park.

PRIVATE PROPERTY ACCIDENT: Police arrested a man for driving with a suspended license and no proof of insurance in the 400 block of Elm Grove Lane. He had backed into a police officer.

JUNE 25

STEALING: A business reported a man drove off without paying for $53 in gasoline in the 6000 block of Howdershell Road.

DRUG PARAPHERNALIA: Police arrested a suspect for possession of marijuana paraphernalia during a traffic stop in the 400 block of Lynn Haven Lane.

STOLEN VEHICLE: A vehicle was reported stolen from a business in the 7800 block of North Lindbergh Boulevard.

JUNE 24

SECOND-DEGREE BURGLARY: Two burglaries were reported in the 4000 block of Dunn Road. Entry was gained through the rear doors.

SHOTS FIRED: Police responded to a call about gunshots in the 100 block of Cheval Court. No victims, suspects or evidence were located.

DRUG POSSESSION: Police arrested a suspect for heroin possession at exit ramp to Lindbergh Boulevard and Interstate 270. The arrest was made after a traffic stop.

JUNE 23

BURGLARY: A burglary was reported in the 400 block of Elm Grove Lane. Electronics were taken.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Police arrested a man after he and his girlfriend assaulted each other in the 1100 block of Knollwood Parkway.

JUNE 20

ATTEMPTED FRAUD: Suspects tried to cash a check for $4,000 when it was written for $400 at a business in the 7600 block of Lindbergh Boulevard.

JUNE 19

DRUG POSSESSION: Police discovered drugs in a car during a traffic stop in the 5400 block of Forest Creek Drive.

FRAUD: A stolen debit card was used in a business in the 7300 block of North Lindbergh Boulevard.

JUNE 18

FUGITIVE ARREST; Police arrested a fugitive after receiving a suspicious person call in the 8700 block of Santa Bella Drive.

FUGITIVE ARREST: Police arrested a fugitive after responding to a disturbance call at the intersection of Beaujolais Drive and Riverwood Estates Boulevard. People were leaving a party causing a disturbance and one of them was wanted on warrants, according to police.

JUNE 17

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: A man assaulted a woman who was on the job in the 8900 block of Pershall Road.

ASSAULT: Police received a report of two juveniles fighting in the 12800 block of Missouri Bottom Road.

JUNE 16

BURGLARY: According to police, a known suspect broke into a residence, damaged some property and stole money in the 5300 block of Knoll Creek Drive.

FIRST-DEGREE BURGLARY: A suspect broke into a house, then fled after seeing a resident in the 6700 block of Cherryvale Drive. The suspect had knocked on the front door. When the resident did not respond, the suspect broke into the house through the rear door, according to police.

STEALING: A man drove off without paying for gasoline at a business in the 6000 block of Howdershell Road.

JUNE 13

DRUG POSSESSION: Police arrested a suspect for possession of a controlled substance after a traffic stop at Truman Park.

THEFT: Police responded to a call of a cell phone being taken from the QuikTrip located at 5950 Howdershell Rd.

JUNE 12

STEALING: A suspect was arrested for stealing at Burlington Coat Factory at St. Louis Mills.

STEALING: A wallet was stolen from a motel room in the 7300 block of North Hanley Road.

STEALING: A vehicle was broken into and St. Louis Cardinal tickets were stolen June 12 at St. Louis Mills.

JUNE 11

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Police arrested a man who assaulted a woman in the 7600 block of Hazelcrest Drive.

LEAVING SCENE OF ACCIDENT: Police located and towed a car that was used in an accident that damaged a fence in the 1700 block of Teson Road.

ROBBERY: A man pointed a handgun at another man and stole two cell phones and a wallet in the 7200 block of Hazelcrest Drive.

BURGLARY: A residence was broken into in the 500 block of Queen Ann Drive. Police report that entry was through an unlocked back door.

STEALING: A person was arrested for shoplifting at Children's Place at St. Louis Mills.

THEFT: Police responded to a call in the 5100 block of Auriesville Dr. A woman reported stolen checks from her home and reported her son as the suspect, according to police.

THEFT: Representatives from First Cash Pawn filed a police report for theft after it was discovered the store had stolen property from a burglary, according to police.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Police arrested a man who assaulted a woman in the 1600 block of Hurstborough Manor Drive.

 JUNE 8

DRUG ARREST: Police arrested an individual on Pratt Place when a it was determined that a minor was in possession of alcohol.

STEALING: Police arrested an individual at Cabela's at St. Louis Mills for stealing. 

 JUNE 7

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED/CARRYING A CONCEALED WEAPON: An individual was arrested at the Interstate 270/McDonnell Douglas Boulevard ramp exit. It was a routine traffic stop resulted in the arrested individual being discovered as under the influence and carrying a firearm.

STEALING: Police responded to a call in the 1100 block of Knollwood Parkway of items being taken from a vehicle.

JUNE 6

STEALING: Two individuals were arrested for stealing ammunition from Cabela's at St. Louis Mills.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: Police arrested an individual for breaking a car window in the 9000 block of Dunn Road.

JUNE 5

STEALING: Police responded to a call in the 8700 block of Santa Bella Drive of stealing.

 JUNE 4

DOMESTIC ASSAULT/BURGLARY: Police responded to a call in the 6900 block of Noble of an individual breaking into the residence of his or her ex-partner's residence through a window. According to police, the individual proceeded to assault the ex's new partner.

JUNE 3

ATTEMPTED SUICIDE: An individual attempted suicide, according to police, in the 500 block of Utz Lane. According to police, the individual took an unknown amount of pills and was transported to DePaul Hospital for treatment.

JUNE 2

PROPERTY THEFT: Police responded to a call at Hazelwood West High School of sugar being poured into a vehicle gas tank.

VEHICLE THEFT: Police responded to a call in the 800 block of Teson Road, to a vehicle reported as stolen. According to police, it was recovered about one block from the location where it was reported stolen.

JUNE 1

DRUG POSSESSION: Police found drugs on an occupant of a car during a traffic stop at Interstate 270 and North Lindbergh.

SHOTS FIRED: Police responded to a call in the 100 block of Anistasia of shots being fired. According the police, the area was checked and the noise was believed to be fireworks.

DRUG ARREST: Police arrested an individual for drug possession during a traffic stop in the 5400 block of Knoll Creek Drive.

THEFT: Police recovered stolen license plates during a traffic stop at the intersection of Elm Grove Lane and Sunset Drive. The suspect was arrested.

MAY 31

STEALING: Money was taken from the safe of a business in the 7300 block of North Hanley Road, according to police.

STEALING: Police responded to a call of the tailgate of a pickup truck was stolen in the 100 block of Village Square Drive.

FORGERY/FRAUD: Police responded to the call of forgery at a credit union in the 5900 block of North Lindbergh.

MAY 30

ASSAULT: Police arrested two suspects for assault in the 7700 block of North Lindbergh Boulevard.

MAY 29

STEALING: Police responded to a call at Cabela's at St. Louis Mills of an individual's wallet being stolen.

MAY 28

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT: Police responded to a call of two juvenile females fighting in the 100 block of Flora Court.

DRUG ARREST: Police made a drug arrest in the 5400 block of Knoll Creek Court.

MAY 27

STEALING: Police responded to a call of a wallet being stolen in the 9000 block of Dunn Road.

DRUG ARREST: Police arrested a suspect for drug possession after a traffic stop at the intersection of Lindbergh Boulevard and Lynn Haven Lane.

MAY 26

STEALING: A business reported a theft in the 9000 block of Dunn Road.

FRAUD: A credit card stolen in St. Ann was used at St. Louis Mills, according to police.

ACCIDENTAL INJURY: A subject fell off the overpass at North Lindbergh Boulevard onto Interstate 270. According to police, the man fell off the northbound portion of the Lindbergh Boulevard overpass onto the westbound lanes of Interstate 270. Upon arrival, officers contacted the pedestrian who reported that while he was walking across the overpass he was walking close to the edge of the overpass to avoid traffic, and slipped off the overpass landing on the highway. According to police, the pedestrian sustained injuries to his arms and legs and was treated at an area hospital.

STEALING: Police responded to a call in the 200 block of Gladys of an air conditioning unit being stolen.

MAY 25

FAILURE TO COMPLY/RESISTING ARREST/PROPERTY DAMAGE: Police arrested an intoxicated female in the 5700 block of Campus Parkway. According to police, while she was being transported to the Hazelwood Police Department (HPD), she kicked out the rear window of an HPD vehicle.

LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT/DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED: An individual was involved in an accident in the 5100 block of Ville Donna Lane. The person struck a parked car on Ville Donna Lane then left the scene. He was arrested in the 5200 block of Villa Rosa Lane.

MAY 24

ENDANGERING THE WELFARE OF A CHILD: An individual was arrested for endangering the welfare of a child in the 400 block of Elm Grove lane.

MAY 23

FIRST DEGREE BURGLARY/SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT/THEFT OF A FIREARM: Police responded to a call in the 200 block of Sadonia Avenue of a burglary. A woman called police stating that her husband left the bedroom to confront suspects that entered their home at which time he was assaulted. She said two men entered the bedroom with a handgun and shotgun forced her to the floor and took property. A male resident was transported to DePaul Hospital for treatment.

STEALING: Police responded to a call in the 50 block of Charbonier Bluff of double pane windows being taken from the garage.

SEX ASSAULT: Police responded to a call in the 8300 block of Richwood Lane invloving a man and his 4-year-old granddaughter.

MAY 22

SECOND DEGREE BURGLARY: Police responded to a call in the 5400 block of Forest Creek Drive of a television and shotgun being stolen.

SECOND DEGREE BURGLARY: Police responded to a call in the 7700 block of Hazelcrest Drive of a computer monitor being stolen.

Fugitive Arrest/Assaulting A POLICE OFFICER: Police arrested a woman in the 1200 block of Whitemoon Way. After arresting the female subject on fugitive warrants an officer was assaulted during booking procedures, and according to police, additional charges were added.

MAY 21

HARASSMENT: Police responded to a call in the 5700 block of Campus Court of phone harassment. An Ex-boyfriend continues to make calls to his ex-girlfriend while she is at work.

PROPERTY DAMAGE/STEALING: Police responded to a call in the 6900 block of Frostview Lane, of a vehicle being broken into. The victim reported items including an indash tv/dvd player and .40 caliber handgun being taken.

STEALING: An individual was arrested at Marshall's at St. Louis Mills for stealing.

MAY 20

ASSAULT: A man was arrested in the 7400 block of Olian. Police responded to a domestic violence call of the man threatening harm to his wife. Upon arrival the man assaulted an officer and resisted arrest, according to police.

DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED: An individual was arrest for driving with intoxicated at the intersection of Deville and Lynn Haven Lane.

MAY 19

SECOND DEGREE ASSAULT: A suspect is wanted in an assault that occurred between two women in the 7300 block of Normandie Court.

STEALING: A firearm was taken from the 6500 block of Serenity Circle.

STEALING: An HVAC unit was stolen from a vacant building in the 5600 block of Campus Parkway.

THEFT: Police responded to a call of a man stealing his girlfriend's vehicle and credit card, in the 250 block of Chapel Ridge.

MAY 18

MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS: Police responded to a call of a mental health crisis in the 700 block of Lamplight where an individual was taken to an area hospital for evaluation.

THIRD DEGREE DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Police arrested a man for assaulting his girlfriend in the 9000 block of Dunn Road. 

May 17

THEFT: Police responded to a call of internal theft at St. Louis Mills.

MAY 16

SECOND DEGREE BURGLARY: Police responded to a call in the 5300 block of Knoll Creek of forced entry through an apartment door. The victim reported music equipment being stolen, according to police.

THIRD DEGREE DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Police arrested a man and woman involved in a relationship for assaulting each other in the 340 block of Avant.

DRUG ARREST: What should have been a routine traffic stop for police turned into the driver and passenger of a vehicle being arrested for possession of hash, marijuana and mushrooms at the intersection of Howdershell and Bienville roads.

COUNTERFEITING: Police responded to a call at St. Louis Mills of an individual passing a counterfeit bill to a merchant.
