Police Blotter April 17 - May 16

Below is a list of crimes that occurred in Hazelwood from mid-April to mid-May. Crimes range from theft and drug possession to a male being arrested for abusing his grandmother, according to police.

Petty theft crimes and drug possession appear to be the biggest criminal presence in Hazelwood during this time period. People stole from department stores, gas stations, pharmacies, their siblings and much more.

MAY 16

THEFT: The Hazelwood Police Department responded to a call of theft at St. Louis Mills Mall. Turned out the theft was internal.

MAY 15

THEFT: HPD responded to a call of theft in the 1900 block of Missouri Bottom Road. Cartons of cigarettes were reported stolen.

MAY 14

SUDDEN DEATH: HPD responded to a call of a death in the  700 block of Hazelvalley Road. An 88-year-old male passed away of natural causes, according to police.

DRUG POSSESSION: HPD responded to a call of a suspicious person in the 7400 block of Foxtrail. According to HPD, drugs were located on one suspect.

THEFT: A woman was arrested for stealing her brother's wallet in the 100 block of Barto, according to police.

MAY 13

THEFT: A juvenile was taken into HPD custody for stealing at Cabela's at St. Louis Mills Mall, according to police.

MAY 12

DRUG POSSESSION: During a traffic stop, HPD discovered a person in possession of controlled substance at the intersection of Howdershell and Knollwood roads.

MAY 11

SUDDEN DEATH: HPD responded to a call of a sudden death in the 140 block of Elm Grove. According to HPD, an elderly man died of natural causes.

SUICIDE ATTEMPT: A women in the 260 block of Sadonia attempted to take her life, according to HPD, the female overdosed on pain medication.

MAY 10

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Police responded to a call for assistance in the 7000 block of Normandie Court. According to police a male resident was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend.

MAY 9

SECOND-DEGREE BURGLARY: HPD responded to a call in the 400 block of White Birch Way of a lawn mower being stolen from a garage.

SECOND-DEGREE BURGLARY: Police responded to a call in the 1900 block of Gerard Park of forced entry through rear door. It was not specified what, if any objects were taken.

THEFT: Police responded to a call in 75 block of Village Square of a wallet being stolen.

MAY 8

MISUSE OF A 911 SYSTEM: A resident in the 900 block of  Midwood may now have a warrant for  arrest. According to HPD, the suspect called 911 several times looking for her nephew. She was advised not to call 911 for this reason and the suspect proceeded to use profanity at the dispatcher. According to HPD, it has applied for an arrest warrant for her.

THIRD-DEGREE ASSAULT: HPD responded to a call at Ice Zone at St. Louis Mills Blvd. According to police two hockey players got into a fight. Each pressed charges against each other and arrest warrants were applied for each individual involved in the altercation, according to police.

DRUG POSSESSION: Police arrested an individual in the 500 block of Saratoga. According to police drugs were located during a traffic stop.

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: An attempt was made to break into a residence in the 7100 block of North Hanley Road, according to HPD.

THIRD-DEGREE DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Police arrested a man and a woman for assaulting each other in the 700 block of Lynn Haven Lane.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: Police responded to a call of property damage in the 15th block of Flamingo where three vehicles were keyed, according to the HPD. 

May 7

FELONY DRUG POSSESSION/DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Police responded to a call in the 200 block of Chapel Ridge of domestic violence. As a result, the HPD ended up arresting a suspect for drugs and domestic assault.

PROTECTIVE CUSTODY: Police took an individual into protective custody in the 1180 block Teson Road.

DRUG POSSESSION: Police arrested an individual at the intersection of North Lindbergh and Utz Lane for possession of a controlled substance.

SECOND-DEGREE BURGLARY: According to police, a residence was broken into  in the 5300 block of Knollwood Parkway Court. Entry was gained through a window and electronics were taken.

MAY 6

PROPERTY DAMAGE: Police responded to the 7300 block of Normandie Court where a residence window was broken, according to the HPD.

BURGLARY: A witness saw a man in a business in the 5600 block of Campus Parkway, according to the HPD. Police searched the building with a canine unit, but the man was not found.

SECOND-DEGREE BURGLARY: An apartment was broken into in the 1200 block of Whitemoon Way. According to police, a firearm and computer were taken.

SECOND-DEGREE BURGLARY/DAMAGE: A vacant residence was broken into in the 100 block of Williams Drive, according to the HPD.

THEFT: Police responded to a call of stealing at Cabela's at St. Louis Mills. According to the HPD, the suspect was caught and arrested.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: Police responded to a call in the 7200 block of Boellner, where the back door of residence was damaged, according to the HPD.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: Police responded to a call in the 8000 block of North Lindbergh were graffiti was painted on a building.

DRUG POSSESSION: The same individual arrested for the second-degree burglary in the 1200 block of Whitemoon Way was also booked for possession of a controlled substance and/or paraphernalia, as a result of that burglary arrest, according to the HPD.

DELAYED FORCIBLE RAPE/SODOMY: Originally pulled as mental health crisis on May 5, an individual in the 9000 block of Dunn Road was arrested for forcible rape and/or sodomy. The rape was reported by the individual's spouse and the hospital where the person was taken on the aforementioned call, according to police.

MAY 5

THEFT: HPD responded to a call for stealing at St. Louis Mills.

SECOND-DEGREE BURGLARY: Police responded to a call in he 200 block of Elbring of burglary. 

MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS: Police responded to a call in the 400 block of Elm Grove of a mentally unstable person.

MAY 5

PROPERTY DAMAGE: Police responded to a call of property damage in the 7400 block of Olian. According to police, a vehicle's tires were slashed.

SUICIDE ATTEMPT/MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS: Police responded to a call of a suicide attempt in the 9000 block of Dunn Road. A person consumed pills, according to police and was transported to an area hospital for treatment and mental evaluation. 

INTERNAL THEFT: A suspect was arrested in the 7900 block of North Lindbergh after stealing at his or her place of employment.

DRUG POSSESSION: HPD arrested an individual for possession of controlled substance in the 5400 block of Knollwood Parkway. The arrest rssulted from a  suspicious person call, according to police.

MAY 4

ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: Police arrested a suspect for an attempted burglary in the 900 block of Riderwood Drive. The suspect admitted to other burglaries in the area.

IDENTITY THEFT: A stolen identification was used in a business in the 300 block of Elm Grove Lane.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: A fence around a hotel was damaged in the 9000 block of Dunn Road.

SECOND-DEGREE BURGLARY: Police responded to a call of forced entry through the front door of a residence in the 7800 block of Chalmette.

THIRD-DEGREE DOMESTIC ASSAULT: A couple was arrested for assaulting each other in the 5400 block of  Knoll Creek Court, according to police.

SECOND-DEGREE ROBBERY/DRUG POSSESSION: Police discovered drugs that were intended to be sold in the 400 block of Candlelight Drive. Two individuals were arrested following the incident for assault and robbery, according to police.

VEHICLE THEFT: A vehicle was stolen from the 290 block of Avant, according to police.

MAY 2

DRUG POSSESSION: Police responded to a disturbance call in the 7500 block of Hazelcrest and discovered drugs.            

MAY 1

THEFT: HPD responded to a call of copper theft in the 12000 block of Missouri Bottom Road. According to police person(s) unknown cut and removed more than 100 feet of cooper wire from cellular phone servicer tower.

APRIL 30

DRUG POSSESSION: Police arrested a person during an incident in the 9000 block of Dunn Road. According to police, drugs were located in the hotel room.

TRAFFIC ARREST: An individual was arrested at the intersection of Fee Fee Hills and North Lindbergh during a traffic stop where it was discovered he has a suspended license.

APRIL 29

THEFT: Police responded to a call in the 7300 block of North Hanley. Medication was reported stolen from a room.

DRUG POSSESSION: An individual was arrested for possession of heroin in the 7400 block of North Lindbergh. According to police, the drug were found during a traffic stop.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Police arrested a man in the 7200 block of Hazelcrest after responding to a call for help when the man pushed his grandmother, according to police.

APRIL 25

THEFT: License plates were stolen from a vehicle in the 9200 block of Latty Road.

FRAUD: A stolen credit card was used by an unknown person in the 800 block of Holiday Avenue.

APRIL 24

SHOTS FIRED: Police responded to a call about some gunshots at the intersection of Sadonia and Williams avenues.

April 23

FUGITIVE ARREST: Police arrested a wanted individual in the 1st block of Queen Ann Drive.

MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS: Police responded to a mental health crisis in the 400 block of Elm Grove Lane. According to police, a prisoner was threatening suicide and was transported to a hospital for mental evaluation.

MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS: Police responded to a mental health call in the 6500 block of Serenity Circle. According to police, the subject was transported to a hospital for mental evaluation.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Police responded to two separate incidents of domestic assault. The first was in the 8900 block of  Dunn Road. The second was in the 8700 block of Sieloff Drive.

APRIL 22

FUGITIVE ARREST: Police arrested a suspect wanted on warrants in the 8900 block of Dunn Road. Police had responded to a call about a suspicious person.

STEALING: A suspect stole money of out of a cash drawer at a kiosk at St. Louis Mills.

ACCIDENTAL DEATH: Police responded to a call of an elderly female falling and hitting her head in the 1000 block of Boggan Place. According to Police, the woman subsequently died an accidental death.

APRIL 20

LEAVING THE SCENE OF AN ACCIDENT: Police responded to a call in the 7600 block of Hazelcrest to the report of an accident. A driver left the scene of an accident after hitting a parked vehicle, according to HPD.

APRIL 19

DOMESTIC/DRUG POSSESSION/ASSAULT: Police responded to a domestic call in the 5300 block of Knollwood Parkway Court. The subject was arguing with his girlfriend on the phone, according to the HPD. While in the residence, police discovered drugs and the subject was arrested. Police said he then assaulted the officer.

THEFT: HPD responded to a call in the 6000 block of Howdershell Road of stealing. Someone stole $40 in gas from the Z/X gas station, according to police.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: An unknown item was placed in a vehicle's gas tank, damaging the engine in the 5300 block of Knoll Creek Drive.

IDENTIFICATION THEFT: A suspect used a stolen identification to obtain loans in the 4100 block of Charbonier Road.
