One Man Dead, Five Others Injured in Two Wednesday Morning Accidents in Hazelwood
A motorcyclist was killed an an accident with an Impala near the intersection of Hazelwood and Latty Ave., and a Metro bus collided with a passenger vehicle, causing injuries to the driver and several passengers.
The victim, whose name hasn’t been released, was driving a motorcycle. According to Hazelwood Police Sgt. Tim Burger, supervisor of the traffic management team and accident reconstruction, the victim had the right-of-way and collided with a Chevrolet Impala, which was going east on Latty.
Apparently, the motorcyclist hit the right side of the Impala at or near a stop sign on Latty.

As police arrived at the scene of the accident, the victim was found laying on the ground. Paramedics took him to DePaul Medical Center where he was pronounced dead just before 4 a.m.
The driver of the Impala isn’t being identified at this time, but police told the Post that he did stay at the scene and offered details on what happened. Since the case is still under investigation, police didn’t release any details on the accident. The driver was not arrested.

Fox2Now reported that the intersection was closed as police investigated the accident and added that the victim was “thrown from the wreckage of the collision.”
The driver of the bus and four passengers were treated for minor injuries after the accident. The driver of the vehicle wasn’t hurt. Police are still investigating the situation.
