North County Murders Prompt St. Louis County Police to Deliver Pizzas
A man was shot to death while delivering pizzas earlier this year. Now, another pizza delivery driver murder reportedly has St. Louis County police going undercover to catch criminals.
St. Louis County Police Chief Tim Fitch said undercover officers will begin delivering pizzas to parts of St. Louis County in effort to deter armed robberies.
The announcement comes after an Imo’s delivery driver was shot and killed Monday night while delivering pizzas in Dellwood. Police said the driver was robbed of the pizzas and a cellphone.

Maksimenko, who lived in the Ballwin area, was working at the Northwood Imo's Pizza when he was murdered. Police said robbery was the motive for the shooting. Two people were later arrested and charged in connection to Maksimenko's murder.
Fitch said officers who typically work undercover drug cases will be the ones working the pizza deliveries, according to the Post-Dispatch article. This is reportedly the first time St. Louis County police have tried such a plan.
