North County Man Pistol-Whips Tenant, Robs Man for Overdue Rent Money

Hazelwood Police said Robyn T. Greer, who owns rental property in Hazelwood, broke the man's nose in the assault.

A Hazelwood landlord faces criminal charges after an argument with a tenant regarding overdue rent.

Robyn T. Greer, 48, of the 600 block of Baltic Drive in North County, was charged Friday with first-degree robbery and second-degree burglary.

Hazelwood Police said Greer had an altercation with another man over past due rent money, and Greer pulled a pistol and demanded the money he felt the man owed him.

When the man did not produce the money, Greer hit him with the butt of the handgun and began striking him in the head and face. When the man fell to the ground, Greer took $75 from his wallet.

The man was taken to the hospital and treated for a broken nose.

Greer is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $50,000.
