Man Rapes 12-Year-Old Relative, Gets Her Pregnant, Police Say

A Hazelwood man is accused of having sex with an underage relative, getting the girl pregnant.

Kevin B. Smith, 31, of the 7200 block of Hazelcrest in Hazelwood, was charged Wednesday with first-degree statutory rape and incest.

Hazelwood Police said Smith raped the 12-year-old girl several times while she was visiting his home May 1 through May 31. The girl became pregnant.

DNA tests revealed Smith is the father of the unborn child, police said.

Warrants were issued Wednesday for Smith’s arrest. Bail was set at $250,000.
