Man Left Blood on Broken Window in Hazelwood Burglary, Police Say

Taj Crenshaw also had been charged with a June 16 burglary in Hazelwood.

A 20-year-old man is accused of a Hazelwood burglary committed nearly three years ago after police said he cut himself on broken window while breaking into the home.

Taj Crenshaw, 20, of the 500 block of Lynn Haven Lane in Hazelwood, was charged Friday with second-degree burglary.

Hazelwood Police said Crenshaw broke into a home in the 800 block of Undercliff Drive in Hazelwood Sept. 10, 2010 by breaking a basement window. Blood was left on the window and in the home, police said.

A PlayStation 3 was stolen in the burglary.

A crime lab analysis matched DNA from the blood with Crenshaw, according to a court document.

Crenshaw now has been charged with two Hazelwood burglaries. Crenshaw previously was charged with a June 16 burglary and theft in Hazelwood.

Crenshaw is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $15,000 for the 2010 burglary charge.
