Shotgun Wedding? Man Reveals Revolver After Stealing Diamond Ring in Hazelwood

Hazelwood Police say Antione Gathing went into a St. Louis Mills store and asked to see a wedding ring before running out of the store with the ring.

A man faces criminal charges after running out of a jewelry store at with a wedding ring.

Antione Gathing, 33, of the 4000 block of Delmar in St. Louis, was charged Saturday with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.

said Gathing went into the store and asked to see a wedding ring. When he was handed the ring, he turned and ran out of the store. When a security guard attempted to stop him in the parking lot, Gather turned and raised his shirt to reveal a revolver in his waistband. The guard backed off.

Gathing is being held at St. Louis County Jail in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
