Man Chased Ex-Girlfriend With Box Cutter, Police Say
Hazelwood Police said the man was yelling that he would slash her throat.
A man chased his ex-girlfriend with a box cutter, screaming that he would slash her throat Tuesday outside apartments in the 7400 block of Olian Drive in Hazelwood.
Hazelwood Police said Phillip Washington, 27, of St. Louis, confronted his former girlfriend outside the apartment building, hit her and then chased her with the box cutter.
The woman ran inside her daughter’s apartment, and the daughter told him he could not come in. The man forced his way inside and began fighting with the woman’s daughter, according to a police report.

Police arrived and arrested Washington. He had a box cutter when he was arrested, according to the report.
Washington was charged Tuesday with first-degree domestic assault, first-degree burglary and armed criminal action.

Washington is being held in St. Louis County jail. Bond was set at $25,000, cash only.
