Lindbergh Water Main Break Closes North and Southbound Lanes, Expected to Last 8 Hours

The Hazelwood Section of the road near Queen Ann Drive is very dangerous due to a mix of water and freezing temperatures.

The incident was reported at 5:34 a.m.

The closure is expected to last 8 hours, according to MoDOT's traveler map.

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MDOT) is urging North County drivers to avoid North Lindbergh on the second morning of the New Year due a water main rupture this.

According to MoDOT, the break happened in the southbound lanes of North Lindbergh Boulevard near the intersection of Queen Ann Drive in the City of Hazelwood.

Missouri American Water is at the scene working to repair the water line.

The break released an explosion of water onto the roadway that also turned to ice, according to MoDOT, which is also said the road is damaged and multiple lanes in the area are closed due to the hazardous conditions.

No approximate reopen time has been released.
