Woman Hurls Beer Bottles at Bartender Who Had Declined Her Service

  • A woman who threw two beer bottles at a Hazelwood bartender who refused to serve her is facing criminal charges. Ashley T. Scott, 22, of the 5300 block of Gladstone Place in North County, was charged Thursday with second-degree assault.

  • A Florissant man, who is accused of leading police on a high-speed chase while driving drunk Jan. 10, not only was on parole at the time but was driving with a revoked license. Paul Allen Tripp, 28, of the 1300 block of Flicker Drive, pleaded guilty April 30 to driving while revoked.

  • Hazelwood Chief of Police Gregg Hall said one decision he's made without a second thought is to promote three Hazelwood Police Department(HPD) officers. "I'm truly honored," he said at a recent Hazelwood City Council meeting. "These are three people that I have worked with their whole career." Those people are James F. Hudanick and Ken Jewson, both promoted to the rank of captain. Henry Mansker was promoted to the rank of major.

Man Charged with Child Abuse After 4-Year-Old Girl Becomes Unresponsive

  • A Hazelwood man is in jail after police officers found a 4-year-old girl unresponsive in the 200 block of Chez Vant Court. That man is 21-year-old James Edward Jones. Hazelwood Police Capt. James Hudanick said officer’s found the child drifting in-and-out of consciousness when the arrived. Hazelwood Fire Department EMS later arrived and found the child had sustained multiple injuries to her head, neck, back and stomach.

Mother Stomped On 14-Year-Old Daughter; Blood Found In Girl's Urine

  • A Hazelwood woman is accused of hitting and stomping on her daughter Monday. Blood was later found in the girl’s urine when she was treated for her injuries. Harmony M. Camden, 37, of the 100 block of Reasor Drive in Hazelwood, was charged Tuesday with abuse of a child, a class C felony.
