Hazelwood Police Blotter, April 12 - 17

Police responded to everything from sugar being poured into a gas tank, to a wife hitting her husband with the family vehicle, to petty theft.

April has been a busy month for the (HPD), responding to more than 300 calls for service, and issuing right at 130 citations the week of April 12 throughout the .

April 17

STEALING: Hazelwood Police responded to a call in the 300 block of Chez Paree Drive. According to police, the resident said items including furniture were missing. Police said the resident believes his or her debtor took them--a furniture rental store.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: A vehicle window was shattered in the 8700 block of Sieloff.

April 16

SECOND DEGREE BURGLARY/AUTO THEFT: Police responded to a call in the 7400 block of Foxmont. According to police, suspects stole three flat screen televisions, a Nintendo gaming console and the victim's vehicle.  

MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS: Response to a mental health crisis in the 5200 block of Ville Rosa led to the individual being transported to DePaul Hospital for observation, according to police.

LEAVING THE SCENE: Person(s) invloved in a traffic accident left the scene before police arrived in the 5300 block of Ville Angela.

DRUG ARRESTS: HPD had two drug arrests. One was at the intersection of Howdershell and Undercliff roads. The second drug arrest was in the 500 block of Village Square.

STEALING: HPD arrested three suspects for stealing at St. Louis Mills Mall. One suspect was arrested for stealing at Old Navy, according to police. Two suspects were arrested for stealing at The Gap.

April 15

STEALING: Police responded to The Children's Place at St. Louis Mills Mall on a theft call.

April 14

STEALING: Individuals stole a generator in the 7700 block of North Lindbergh, according to police.

STEALING: Police arrested a suspect at The Gap at St. Louis Mills Mall for stealing.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: Police responded to a call at the interchange to interstates 170 and 270. The victim reported a rock thrown at his or her vehicle.

April 13

RUNAWAY: Police responded to the call of a runaway child in the 600 block of Hazelvalley Drive. According to police, the child has reportedly left home 10 times, usually during disciplinary issues at school. Police report the child typically returns when the school suspension is lifted. 

April 12

DRUG ARREST: Police spotted a suspicious vehicle on Wildcat Lane that resulted in a drug arrest.

STEALING: Police responded to a call at 5500 St. Louis Mills Boulevard where an employee was arrested for internal theft, according to police.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: Police responded to a call on Wildcat Lane of  sugar poured into a gas tank.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: An former tenant damaged the door to a residence in the 250 block of Palm, according to police.

SHOTS FIRED: Shots were fired in the 900 block of Holiday. According to HPD, the area was checked because residents said they thought they heard fireworks.

DOMESTIC ASSAULT: Hazelwood Police responded to a call in the 5300 block of Ville Anita. According to HPD, a husband and wife began an argument at the residence. The male walked away and his wife followed in a vehicle. She eventually hit him with the car, according to police.l
