Hazelwood Man Points Firearm at Neighbor and Pulls Trigger; Gun Misfires, Police Say
Hazelwood Police said Terrance Woods accused his neighbor of having an affair with his girlfriend before pulling out a handgun.
A Hazelwood man pointed a gun at his neighbor and pulled the trigger Thursday. The gun misfired and the man was able to push his attacker out of his home and call police.
Terrance Woods, , 38 of the 200 block of Chaparral Creek Court in Hazelwood, was charged with first-degree assault.
Hazelwood Police said Woods accused his neighbor of having an affair with his girlfriend. The man denied it, but Woods pulled out a loaded 9mm Astra handgun, pointed it at the man and pulled the trigger, police said.

The man then struggled with Woods to get him out of his house and called 911.
Hazelwood police said officers found a 9mm Astra handgun in Woods’ girlfriend’s residence. A bullet was in the handgun’s chamber and an impression was on the primer.

Woods is being held in the St. Louis County Justice Center. Bail was set at $50,000.
