Hazelwood Opens Cooling Centers for Heat Influx

The Hazelwood Community Center and Civic Center East are open now as cooling centers for residents looking to escape the excessive heat.

In anticipation of temperatures this week exceeding 108 degrees Thursday and sticking around through Monday, the made both the and the available for heat relief.

told Hazelwood Patch Both of these recreational facilities will be open as a heat shelter this week during the following hours: 

  • Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. 

If any further complications occur due to power outages or emergency need, the City of Hazelwood will post additional updates on its website as to the next level of sheltering options.
