Hazelwood Crime: Child Found Wandering in Florissant, Mother Unaware

Here are a few of the crimes that occurred on Sept. 11 thru Sept. 13 in the City of HazelwoodHazelwood Patch obtained the accounts from the Hazelwood Police Department.

Sept. 11

Recovered Stolen Property: An iPhone was found at an ATM machine at St. Louis Outlet Mall. It was stolen from Florissant. 

Vehicle Theft: A 48-ft. tractor trailer was stolen from the 4700 block of Park 370.

Lost Article: A person lost their security badge in the 800 block of Lightwood Drive.

Identity Theft: A person filed for unemployment benefits in someone else's name. The crime was reported in the 1900 block of Fernwood Trails.

Unlawful Use of a Weapon: A person fired a gun in a wooded area near the 4100 block of Dunn Rd. Residents nearby heard the shots and called police. The shooter was arrested.

Sept. 12

Assault: Two teens got into a fight at Hazelwood West Middle School.

Mental Health Crisis: A person was transported to DePaul Healthcare to be treated for depression in the 7700 block of Hazelcrest Drive.

Sept. 13

Stealing: A theft was reported at Hazelwood West High School.

Endangering the Welfare of a Child: A five-year-old girl was found walking on Ridgelawn in Florissant. Police contacted the child's mother at their residence in the 7700 block of Hazelcrest. The mother told police she did not know her daughter's location. The mother was arrested and the Missouri Department of Social Services Family Support Division was notified. The girl, along with her three other siblings were released to their grandparents.

Stealing: A person took a cab ride home and didn't pay the fare. The cab driver identified the customer and police entered him as wanted.
