Great Escape: Therapeutic Shopping

In this segment of the Great Escape, we show you how to seek a little pleasure through retail therapy.

When it's the middle of the week and you realize there's still a few days until the weekend, but you need a well-deserved break, take a little time for some retail therapy.

It can be the perfect escape, and if you're like me, you get even more pleasure on a sale. For example, Saturday my mother and I escaped early in the morning and headed to Dillard's. The department store was having an additional 40 to 70 percent of already marked down items.

I felt all the stress subside when I saw the red tag displaying a discounted price on an item that was once $70, that I purchased for $15. Who doesn’t love a good bargain?

It doesn't have to be a large department store at which you shop. I love going to a place like a local florist-- for instance, and seeing a markdown on some flowers that may be a few days past their expiration date, or a family pack of meat that's an additional $.10 off per pound.

The purpose is to get out of the house and seek a little bit of pleasure in something.  For me it's shopping, for you it may be something different. Either way, be sure to get out and seek a great escape, if even only for a few moments.
