Amanda didn't sleep well last night.  She wakes up late and doesn't have time to eat breakfast before rushing to work.    At 9:30 am she walks by a plate of doughnuts.  They appeal to her.  She eats one and feels more grounded at first. Within a short time, however, she's slightly depressed and jittery.  For lunch she grabs a sandwich at the cafeteria and feels much better.  By 2:30 pm, she's completely fatigued, searching for coffee.  And the cycle continues.

This cycle is actually exactly what your body is supposed to do to regain hormonal balance.  It's designed to take whatever we give it and make the most out of it that it can.  The thing is that we could make this process SO MUCH easier on our body AND feel much better in the process.
