Twitter Crashes, Users Experiencing Social Media PTSD

At 11a.m. CST Twitter updated it's blog stating, "Our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue."

If you can't access your Twitter account, don't go too crazy.

Twitter went down for more than an hour on Thursday afternoon beginning at 10:59 a.m. CST, according to Twitter's page on tracking site Pingdom.

With no place to complain about the outage in less than 140 characters, users have flocked to other social media sites including Facebook and Tumblr to express disdain.

Service returned intermittently around noon, but Twitter is currently down as it crashed again.

Twitter updated its status blog at 12:42 p.m. saying "the issue has been resolved and all services are currently operational." But currently the blog only shows a noon post saying:

"Users may be experiencing issues accessing Twitter. Our engineers are currently working to resolve the issue. Update: The issue is on-going and engineers are working to resolve it."

So what's a tweep to do? There's not much that can be done.

According to CNN Money, this Thursday's Twitter outage is the longest disruption in service since an hour-long episode on October 7, which came during a month filled with hundreds of very brief outages, according to Pingdom's data.
