A Suburban Journal article introduced you to Jake Junghanel this week. Junghanel will serve as 's new supervisor.  He replaces Jill Arnold, who moved to as its facilities manager. When the aquatic center is closed, Junghanel will be in charge of other Hazelwood recreational programs, including the Miss Hazelwood contest.

KMOX reported on the city's . As Hazelwood Patch previously reported the Mills sisters, 14-year-old Abigail and her 16-year-old sister Caitlin after they were told they could no longer sell Girl Scout cookies from their driveway. The girls were in court Thursday for a hearing, but a judge who’d been on vacation decided to further review the case and could issue a ruling in a couple of weeks, according to KMOX.

A Seattle Times report discusses Boeing's attempt to attain a protective order that will seal documents and restrict access by the public and press to parts of the ongoing. The company is in the midst of an National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) hearing.  The article states that Boeing is defending itself against an NLRB charge that it broke labor laws when it chose to put the second 787 Dreamliner assembly line in Charleston, S.C., allegedly in retaliation against the Machinists union for past strikes at its Puget Sound factories. Boeing's Defense, Space & Security unit is based in Hazelwood.

The St. Louis Business Journal reports that CenturyLink prepaid about $546 million of Savvis’ credit facility debt. According to the article, CenturyLink said it expects the combination to improve its revenue, EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) and free cash flow growth profile. Telecom company CenturyLink announced its plans to buy Savvis April. Savvis operates 32 data centers worldwide, including in Hazelwood.

TireBusiness.com is reporting that Hazelwood based Community Wholesale Tire Distributors Inc. will contribute 3 percent of the total combined purchases of its Joplin, Mo., tire dealer customers for the entire year to the Joplin Chamber Business Recovery Fund to assist in the Joplin tornado recovery efforts. The estimated total donation for 2011 is expected to be approximately $20,000, according to the report.
