Saturday Night Storms Knockout Hazelwood Power

Ameren Missouri has reported a number of power outages throughout the Hazelwood  area due to Saturday night's storm.

The Ameren Missouri outage map on its website reports approximately 1,150 Hazelwood residences that appear to be without power. According to Ameren, the anticipated power restoration time for Hazelwood is 12:30 p.m.

Throughout the St. Louis area the estimate is more like 14,000 residents without power. Zip codes representing St. Charles and Jennings respectively, 63301 and 63136, are the only listed areas showing more residents without power than Hazelwood as of 8a.m.

The National Weather Service has a hazardous weather outlook posted for the rest of the week. Severe thunderstorms are a concern through Wednesday as cold and warm fronts move into the area and mix.

Sunday: A slight chance of thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. East wind between 3 and 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Sunday Night: A slight chance of thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 75. Southeast wind between 6 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Monday: A chance of thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 93. Heat index values as high as 101. South wind between 7 and 13 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Monday Night: A chance of thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 71. North wind between 5 and 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 84. North wind between 7 and 9 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 83.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 69.
