Council Members Make it Official for Another Term, Tony Roma's Transfers its Liquor License

Hazelwood City Council members of odd numbered wards were sworn into office at Wednesday's meeting after city clerk Colleen Wolf certified the April 2 election results.

One-by-one, four Hazelwood City Council members stood in front of residents and assured everyone of their dedication to the job. Each, under oath, said they have what it takes to be a councilperson.

"(I) affirm that I possess all of the qualifications for my office as described by the charter and ordinances of the city of Hazelwood," each said.

Carol Stroker, Russell Todd, Ro Hendon and Don Ryan all swore to also support the constitutional laws of the United States of America, the state of Missouri and Hazelwood, along with a few other assurances as they took their oaths of office at Wednesday's council meeting.

City clerk Colleen Wolf certified the results of the April 2 election, in which only they, the incumbents filed, for city council positions.

Following the oaths of office, council voted in Todd as mayor pro tempore. Should Mayor Matthew Robinson become unable to serve in his capacity Todd would become the acting mayor.

In other news, Steve Day, senior director of operations at HMSHost approached council representing Tony Roma's. He asked council to transfer the restaurant's liquor license from a manager that is no longer working for the company to its current manger.

Council approved the request, but councilman Bob Aubuchon reminded day the business still could not serve alchol for another week.
