Update: 400 IT Jobs Heading to Hazelwood at Boeing

New details are emerging about a May announcement to restructure Boeing's IT unit bringing new jobs to Hazelwood.

In May, Hazelwood Patch reported on the Boeing Co., restructuring and plans to move IT work to St. Louis. At that time, Andrew Favreau, a communications specialist at Boeing Co. said the number and type of jobs were not confirmed.

But new details are emerging about the big move and it appears Boeing will open an information technology center at in Hazelwood, adding 400 new jobs.

Missouri Governor Jay Nixon announced Boeing's expansion plans while in France on a trade mission to Western Europe, according to KSDK.

Jobs will also be moved to North Charleston, S.C., and Puget Sound, Wash. These are considered locations that already have a significant IT presence, according to the company.
