Sanford-Brown College Hazelwood Closes

A post on the college's website says the Hazelwood location is closed. What would you like to see fill the buildings at Village Square the college occupied?

The signs and the groups of students sitting in front of the Sanford-Brown building are gone.

The Sanford-Brown College Hazelwood location is no more. The administration and school facilities, which are both located at Village Square, are empty.

A post on the college's website says the Sanford-Brown College Hazelwood campus is no longer open, but doesn't give a reason. It directs those seeking general information to cal (866) 934-1594.

David Cox, economic developer for the City of Hazelwood, said the city has not been notified of the closure but was aware it would be closing.

"We haven't received notice that they are closed (per our business license)," he said. "But the last time I talked to the group that owns the center they said SB (Sanford-Brown) was going to close this year."

Cox said he was unaware if the college was simply relocating or just downsizing and closing the campus.

Hazelwood Patch reached out the the college's public relations contact to see what would happen with students attending the college as well as instructors and staff, to no avail.
