Renard Paper Co. Sold to HP Products Corp.

A merger of two companies will marry in Hazelwood. Indianapolis-based HP Products Corp., a distributor of janitorial supplies, has acquired St. Louis based Renard Paper Co.

“Renard is a respected and well-established company in St. Louis, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to expand in the marketplace," said Bridget Shuel-Walker, President of HP Products, in a written statement. "We will invigorate Renard Paper with a greatly expanded product line and exceptional service.  It’s our intention to continue to invest in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas."

Logistics support and warehousing operations for the company will be located in HP’s  Distribution Center, located near in Park 370, 4774 Park 370 Blvd Ste. 10, Hazelwood, MO 63042.

Terms of the purchase, which was completed Sept. 11, were not disclosed. Renard Paper is a distributor of industrial and commercial cleaning products, paper goods, food-service products and safety equipment.

Renard Paper is a family-owned company and was founded by Henri Renard in 1953. According to an HP Product statement, second-generation family members sold the compnay.

"The fact that we are still a family-owned business is a huge asset to the community," said David Renard, President of Renard Paper. "HP will provide the expertise in the varied segments that we currently don’t sell, and we can vastly strengthen our position in our current customers."

Renard does roughly $25 million in annual sales and has about 20 employees. HP Products said about 10 employees, including the sales team, will remain in place. The company expects to hire additional sales personnel in the future, according to the statement.
