Jo Jo's Set to Expand, Open Pizzeria
Jo Jo's owners presented plans to open a new aspect to the business next door at a recent City Council meeting.
After opening a little more than a year ago, Jo Jo’s Kitchen has plans to get even bigger and more variety in Hazelwood.
During the June 5 Hazelwood City Council meeting, co-owners Dawn and Senol Bonin presented plans to enlarge their space at 6849 Howdershell Rd. by moving into the space next door, formerly Mama G’s Pizzeria, and enter the pizza realm.
Known for its comfort food offerings, Jo Jo’s expansion would offer artisan pizzas, pastas and salads, Dawn Bonin said. The divided sides would allow for the diner component to remain intact and have the pizzeria on the other side. The pizzeria would also feature a brick oven for baking.

Senol Bonin also explained that they would plan to hire two more part-time servers for the other side.
The City Plan Commission voted in favor of the expansion. City Council will take a final vote on the proposed expansion during its June 19 meeting.
