Fourth of July: What's Open, Closed Around Hazelwood

Find out what's going to be open and closed for Independence Day as well as Friday.

As Hazelwood celebrates the Fourth of July with this long weekend, many local businesses are changing their hours or giving employees a much needed break.

The following is a list of what Patch found to be open and closed Thursday and Friday, July 4-5.

  • Hazelwood City Hall will be closed for the Fourth of July but will be open Friday, 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
  • Hazelwood Community Center and Civic Center East will be open Thursday, 11 a.m.- 5 p.m., and Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. White Birch Bay will also be open Thursday, noon-5 p.m.
  • Hazelwood School District will be closed for the Fourth of July but will be open for enrollment of new students Friday at 8 a.m.
  • All area Schnucks stores will be open for regular business hours Thursday and Friday.
  • All area Walgreens will be open for regular business hours Thursday and Friday.
  • The Saint Louis Zoo will be open Thursday, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Post offices will be closed and mail carriers will have Thursday off, but the postal service schedule resumes Friday, as well as mail delivery.
  • All branches of the St. Louis County Library system will be closed Thursday but will reopen Friday morning.
