Customer Says Sun Restaurant's Fried Rice Caused Salmonella

Also, Taco Bell is being referred for a hearing after a supervisor couldn't provide a food safety certification.

Comments: A customer was diagnosed with salmonella after eating mixed fried rice. The inspector went through the cooking and preparation process with the manager of the restaurant, who said that the meat is seasoned, cooked in the wok and then cooked to order as well as a number of other processes. Comments: Customer complained of illness following a visit to Hokkaido. The customer said they ate from the “choose your own” hibachi station where you select the meat and vegetables on a plate and hand it to the cook. The person ate chicken, beef, broccoli and onions. None of their dining companions became sick. Inspector observed the “choose your own station” and didn’t see any cross contamination occurring. No other violations observed during the inspection.
