Man Steals from His Aunt, Takes Police on Foot Chase, Swallows Heroin to Hide It

Here are a few of the crimes that occurred on Oct. 3 through Oct. 5 in the City of HazelwoodHazelwood Patch obtained the accounts from the Hazelwood Police Department.

October 3
Making False Report: A person was arrested in the 6000 block of Howdershell Road for filing false report. He reported he was the victim of a strong armed robbery. Officers and detectives reviewed videos and the investigation revealed the robbery claim was unfounded.

Drug Arrest: Two suspects were arrested for a drug violation in the 8000 block of Pershall Road. 

Drug Arrest: A person was arrested after drug paraphernalia was located during a traffic stop at the intersection of Dunn and Hanley roads. 

October 4
Stealing: Four ladder stand sections were stolen at St. Stanislaus Park.

Stealing: A person's bike was stolen from a shed in their backyard in the 700 block of Teson Road.

October 5
Endangering Child: A person was arrested for shoplifting with her child present at St. Louis Outlet Mall. She was arrested for stealing, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of stolen property and being a fugitive for another department for a felony crime.

Burglary: A person reported seeing someone inside a vacant home in the 7000 block of Laupher. The person left the home after being spotted.

Stealing: A person in the 5000 block of Ville Maria reported her nephew stole credit cards and money. The man was later arrested after being chased through nearby woods. The man swallowed a bag of heroin and was admitted to Depaul Health Care for observation.

Burglary/Stealing: A teen was arrested for smashing the window at Dirt Cheap with a rock and stealing cigarettes. He was identified in video surveillance.

Domestic Assault/Stealing: A man hit woman in the face, bit her and stole her phone in the 6000 block of Serenity Circle.
