Boeing to Partner with Embraer to Make Transport Plane

The companies will exchange technical and market information as part of the agreement, and they may team up for commercial opportunities, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Boeing already produces the C-17 transport plane, which carries heavier loads than the KC-390 at the Boeing Defense, Space & Security segment, .

Boeing also produces the F-18, one of three planes the Brazilian government is considering buying as it renovates its air force, the article reports.

Boeing and Embraer already signed a broad technology sharing agreement this spring, according to the New Tribune, where they agreed to collaborate on alternate fuel technology and commercial aircraft developments.

Boeing delivered the sixth United Arab Emirates (UAE) C-17 Globemaster III to the UAE Air Force and Air Defense earlier this month, its website states.

The is the second-largest employer in the St. Louis area with 14,730 local employees.
