It's National Boss Day: Do You Like Your Boss Enough to Celebrate?

Today is the day to celebrate the person who hired you. Or is it?

of working people at it for long hours at their jobs. This city has people making a living and working in every kind of field—and today is supposed to be the day to celebrate the bosses.

It is National Boss Day. The day began in 1958 when Patricia Haroski, a State Farm Insurance secretary from Deerfield, Ill., registered the date with a national calendar listing called Chase’s Annual Events, according to the Miami Herald.

Adecco Group North America surveyed more than 800 office workers and found that 23 percent said the most uncomfortable conversation topic between boss and employee is their relationship status. The survey also found that 16 percent of employees don't want to discuss their political beliefs with the boss, and 11 percent don't want to reveal their medical history.  Oddly though, not one respondent said they would be uncomfortable discussing their age with a boss, and only 5 percent said they’d be uncomfortable discussing their weight.

An OfficeTeam survey states that 65 percent of employees don't feel they can do a better job than their boss. And if you're wondering the amount of people who say they want their bosses job, it's low, with 76 percent saying they wouldn't want to be the boss.

So we wanted to know, Hazelwood, how are you celebrating the day? Are you celebrating, or is this just another made-up Hallmark holiday? By the way, Hallmark didn’t start offering a Boss Day card until 1979.
