13 Years Later, It Costs 25 Percent Less to Travel from Lambert Airport

When you purchase a ticket to fly out of Lambert-St. Louis International Airport you may pause at the price. But 13-year figures show when a consumer plans ahead and goes after a deal, they are flying cheaper than they would have in 2000.

The average round-trip fare from Lambert-St. Louis International Airport was $347 during the fourth quarter of last year, down 25 percent from $464 during the first quarter of 2000, according to the St. Louis Business Journal.

This is based on inflation-adjusted U.S. Department of Transportation figures of domestic itinerary flights.
