Hazelwood West Alumna Nominated for an Emmy

Laura Jones' nomination is for her role on ABC's show 'Once Upon a Time' where she is a visual effects supervisor.

When walking the hallways at Hazelwood West High School, only Laura Jones knew if she planned to be in television as a high school student in early 2000 through 2004.

Since graduation in 2004, Jones has been making her footprint in television, film and entertainment; and she was recently nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award.

Jones is a visual effects supervisor for ABC’s show “Once Upon a Time.”

This is her third nomination related to her work on the show "Once Upon A Time"  and her nominations include:

  • Visual Effects Society (VES) Awards Nominations: "Outstanding Visual Effects in a Broadcast Series," Episode 101 : Pilot, 2012
  • "Outstanding Visual Effects in a Broadcast Series," Episode 120 : The Stranger, 2013
  • Primetime Emmy Nomination: "Outstanding Special Visual Effects," Episode 120 : The Stranger, 2012
Since starting her career, Jones has been involved in more than 80 television episodes, plus a handful of commercials and video games, according to an Hazelwood School District press release.
