Downtown St. Louis Celebrates Juneteenth

Come to downtown St. Louis  for a lunchtime Juneteenth celebration in the Old Post Office Plaza on June 17.

Live performances and a booming sound system will bring downtown St. Louis to life for the daytime event, which will feature dance and poetic performances honoring Black-American history and traditions.

Juneteenth is the oldest commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States and continues to be celebrated across the nation with family gatherings and community events that emphasize education and achievement. The Diversity Awareness Partnership will organize the festivities using a grant awarded by Downtown Now!, a foundation that aims to engage the downtown working, resident and visitor audiences among many other objectives.
