Catch Some Air at the Annual BMX/Skate Competition

The Hazelwood Parks and Recreation Department in cooperation with PlanNine Skate Park will host the event for the 8th year.

Residents can witness a taste of Summer X Games-style tricks and action at the annual BMX/Skate Competition Friday.

Local riders and skateboarders will compete to be the best in their division in the event’s 8th year.

“Last year, we had BMX riders catching air about six or eight feet above our biggest ramp,” said Pam Reynolds, facility manager of the Hazelwood Community Center.  “If you like watching extreme sports on TV, you’ll enjoy watching these kids defy gravity and raise the ante during each round.  Plus, the admission is free for all spectators.”
