Share Photos from Hazelwood's Easter Eggstravaganza 2012

Hundreds of children, ages 10 and under, came with their parents, grandparents, and older siblings to this year’s Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday at .

The hosts the event annually. A new aspect this year was Dunkin Donuts' participation. Sam Patel, owner of the Florissant Dunkin Donuts gave one free doughnut to each attendee.

More than 14,000 Easter eggs were hidden throughout the park. employees stuff the eggs each year.

“Valley Industries Sheltered Workshop in Hazelwood did a tremendous job for us again this year stuffing the eggs with candy and preparing them for the event,” said Greg Viehman, Hazelwood’s Easter Eggstravaganza event coordinator in a statement.  “We initially brought over about 14,000 plastic, multi-colored Easter eggs and 25,000 pieces of candy to Valley Industries, and their employees finished this project within three days which was an exceptionally fast turnaround.” 

In addition to the egg hunt, the Easter Bunny greeted children.  Afterwards, the Piwacket Children’s Theater performed a play titled “Westward Ho” in the gymnasium.
