See a Play, or Play and Search for Easter Eggs

There's a plethora of Easter Egg festivities beginning this weekend as well as a few area high school theatrical productions.

There's plenty to do in and around Hazelwood this weekend. Check some of these events out and tell us how it went in the comments section.

  • When/Where: Firday, April 15, 7:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. at .

  • Why Go: Participants will need to bring flashlights and an Easter basket or bag. Participants can also bring their own beverages, coolers and lawn chairs. A limited number of prize eggs will be spread throughout the park. A spectacular fireworks display immediately after the hunt to entertain the crowd. Limited tickets available at Hazelwood Community Center, 1186 Teson Road, or Civic Center East, 8969 Dunn Road.

  • Price: $10

    • When/Where: April 16 at the Boeing Machinist building, 212 Utz Ln, Hazelwood, MO 63042

  • Why Go: The Great Rivers Longspurs are hosting the event which will include a hog roast with the fixings, beer, soda and all the fun you can handle. There will also be a silent and live auctions including a gun auction, sportsman raffle, women in outdoors, a children's table, planko table, knife table and Wheel of Fortune.

  • Price: Adult $20, under 18 $10; event and National Wild Turkey Federation membership - Adult $45, child $15, couple $55, Sponsor $255, Table $800

    • When/Where: Saturday, April 16, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. at at .

    • Why Go: This is Hazelwood's first egg hunt for "Man's Best Friend." All four-legged participants will be sniffing out eggs filled with dog treats and prizes. The event will feature giveaways, prizes and opportunities for a photo with the Easter Bunny. For owners who like to dress up their pets, a "Best Bonnet" contest will be held. Dogs must be kept on a leash and under control. The area will be divided into size categories. Registration is limited.

  • Price: $12 per pet

    • When/Where: April 14-16 at the Touhill Performing Arts Center at the University of Missouri at St. Louis, 1 University Blvd.

    • Why Go: Some of the most recognizable talent in jazz celebrate the genre's fundamental components at the Greater St. Louis Jazz Festival. Special guests include The Vanguard Jazz Orchestra, Ron Carter and the UMSL Jazz Ensemble

    • Price: Package pricing for evening events on Friday and Saturday begin at $25.

    • When/Where: Saturday, April 16, 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. in Westport Plaza.

    • Why Go: Come to Westport and check out the street performances around the Plaza by Juggling Jeff!

    • Price: Free
