Several projects are occurring throughout August in the city, of which residents should be aware.

You may have seen it. It may have caused you a little grief while traveling the past two weeks throughout Hazelwood, but you just might be happy with the end result.

The first phase required the closing of eastbound Elm Grove Lane from Olian to Lindbergh Boulevard last week.

Currently, road closure barricades and detour signs are set up to direct eastbound traffic to Candlelight and Coachway lanes for access to Lindbergh Boulevard.

Elm Grove Lane is closed to eastbound traffic from Olian to Lindbergh Boulevard. According to a City of Hazelwood release, the plan was for Lamke Construction to tear out the existing concrete from Olian to Lindbergh Boulevard, then start new pavement work.

Traffic on that stretch of road will be limited to the residents of Holly Manor Apartments and Hazelwood Meadows Apartment complex, as well as Hazelwood City Hall patrons, according to the release. This will not affect the parking of vehicles on the street or the apartment complex parking lot.

The westbound lane from Olian to Lindbergh Boulevard will also see new life. The concrete will be torn out on that side of the road and replaced with new pavement. Traffic turning onto westbound Elm Grove Lane will be diverted and allowed to go through the road construction site.  However, Elm Grove Lane will remain closed to eastbound drivers from Lindbergh Blvd. to Olian.

The Hazelwood Street Maintenance division has also began and completed a few roadway projects including several road improvement projects of which residents should know about.

Teson Road

A pipe going underneath the road was replaced near Teson and Aubuchon Roads, causing road closure on Aug. 1, from 8 a.m. to about 2 p.m.

Milling and Asphalt Pouring on Airshire
