Obama May Slow Your Work Travel

President Obama will be landing at Lambert International Airport for a campaign fundraiser downtown today. His motorcade route is not being revealed.

Update: Tuesday, 12 p.m. According to the The White House itinerary, Obama is expected at Lambert International Airport at 5:25 p.m. He's scheduled to make a statement at the Renaissance Hotel at 6:25 p.m. then make another appearance at a private residence at 7:35 p.m. The president is expected back on Air Force One at Lambert at 9 p.m. for departure from St. Louis.

Area drivers should expect traffic delays to and from downtown St. Louis Tuesday with the Cardinals playoff game taking place during a campaign visit from President Obama.

The Cards play the Philadelphia Phillies at 4 p.m. in St. Louis at Busch Stadium Tuesday.

President Obama is scheduled to attend a fundraiser taking place at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown St. Louis from 5 to 8 p.m. Because of security concerns, there is no word on the president's exact arrival or departure to and from the event, but it is during that baseball game.

KMOV reports that several streets downtown will shut down late Tuesday afternoon, including Washington Avenue from 8th Street to 11th Street starting around 3 p.m., as well as parts of 9th Street, 10th Street and others.

Obama is expected to arrive in St. Louis on Air Force One  at Lambert International Airport. His motorcade route is not being revealed and the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells Patch it cannot comment on the president's transportation plans for security reasons, but in the past, roads and interstates have been shut down as a president's motorcade has made its way through the area.
