Family Files Lawsuit Against Ameren in 2012 Lake of the Ozarks Electrocutions

Jennifer Lankford, a 26-year-old Hazelwood woman, died in an unrelated but similar incident several days later.

The mother of two children electrocuted in a 2012 Fourth of July boat dock accident at Lake of the Ozarks is suing Union Electric, which does business as Ameren Missouri, for the deaths. The utility company owns the lake.

Angela Anderson filed the wrongful death lawsuit in Morgan County. The suit claims Ameren failed to notify lake dock owners of the need to install electrical protection devices like ground fault interrupters.

Her children, Alexandra Anderson, 13, and Brayden, 8,  died while swimming at in the lake's Gravois arm.
