TEEN TECH WEEK: DJ HERO

  • When/Where: 7 p.m. March 7, of the St. Louis County Library, 915 Utz Ln., Hazelwood, MO 63042

  • Why Go: As part of its Teen Tech Week, the library celebrates music technology. Already conquered Guitar Hero? Become the ultimate DJ. Mix and spin over 100 songs to make original tunes and compete with your friends. Ages 12-18. Registration required.

    IMMIGRATION HISTORY

    • When/Where: 6:30 p.m. March 8, Overland Community Center, 9225 Lackland Road, Overland, Mo
    • Why Go: NiNi Harris, historian and author of books on St. Louis history and architecture, will present a program on "Immigration From the Founding of St. Louis to 1924." The talk will be part of the monthly meeting of the Overland Historical Society. Open to the public. Call 314-426-7027 for more information.

    MARDI GRAS MADNESS

    • When/Where:  4 p.m. March 8, Prairie Commons Branch of the St. Louis County Library, 915 Utz Ln., Hazelwood, MO 63042

  • Why Go: Celebrate Mardi Gras with stories, activities and crafts to take home. Recommended for ages K-5.

  • Cost: This event is free.

  • AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH

    • When/Where: 4 p.m. daily until March 11, St. Louis Science Center

    • Why Go: It's at the Omniax. Visitors must obtain a ticket on the day of the screening they wish to attend. Only 300 will be distributed per day. For more information, visit slsc.org.

  • Cost: This event is free.

  • THE MIKADO

    • When/Where: 8 p.m. March 11, University of Missouri-St. Louis at the Touhill Performing Arts Center, One University Boulevard St. Louis, Missouri 63121

    • Why Go: The satirical operetta The Mikado, presented by the New York Gilbert & Sullivan Players, will play the Touhill Performing Arts Center. A pre-show discussion 50 minutes prior to the performance and a post-show reception are free to ticket holders.

    • Cost: Tickets cost $50, $40 and $35
