5 Things to Find in Hazelwood's Fall Activities Brochure

The newest activities brochure was released recently, nad here are a few highlights.

Summer isn’t over yet, but the City of Hazelwood has recently released its 2013 fall events and activity brochure.

  1. If you’re interested in signing up for a class or getting your child involved in an activity, registration for residents starts Aug. 19. Nonresidents will be able to register beginning Aug. 26.

  • Capture some disc golf course fun during the 5th annual Ace Race, Oct. 19 at White Birch. One player with one shot for each hole -- that’s it. The player with the most aces after 36 holes wins. There is a registration fee of $25 required.

  • Although the city has transportation for those 55 and older and those who are disabled to run basic errands throughout town, each Wednesday riders can enjoy a special trip to an area mall or casino.

  • If you want to catch the garden bug, the Hazelwood Gardeners Group invites those interested to come out and join activities such as gardener speakers, tours and more. The group only meets through October, the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at Hazelwood Community Center. For more information, call Steve or Karen Rahmberg, 314-921-4762.

  • The Hazlewood Community Enrichment Commission will collect used books to sell at the 2013 Harvestfest. The commission will collect books through Sept. 1 at the recreation office. No encyclopedias, textbooks or magazines will be accepted.
