Happy Monday! There's a lot of news occurring in the City of Hazelwood this week, and Patch will be out there trying to get it all. Here's a look at some things we have planned for the week. Don't forget your umbrella before heading out the door as forecasts call for thunderstorms throughout the day with additional showers likely tonight,according to the National Weather Service. Today's high is expected to reach 44 degrees with a low of 30. The seven-day forecast calls for drier weather on Friday and Saturday, with temperatures remaining about the same. OSHA Investigates the Death of a Forklift Operator in Hazelwood The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating an accident that killed a 53-year-old forklift operator in Hazelwood. Donald Mitchell died Sunday, Feb. 6 after being thrown from the forklift at the Supervalu Distribution Center located at 7100 Hazelwood Ave. According to a Hazelwood Police Department press release, the department responded to a call at approximately 12:36 p.m. The incident was called in to law enforcement as an accidental injury. Well, the Hazelwood Snowpocalypse wasn't what we all expected. The so-called next big storm for the city is behind us, and the National Weather Service canceled its blizzard warning and replaced it with a wind chill advisory. Cold air and winds of 10 miles per hour will create very chilly and low wind chill values tonight, according to the advisory. Temperatures are expected to hover between 13 and 23 degrees during the day and drop to between -1 and -15 degrees. That being said. there's still plenty of time to enjoy the snow during the day.
