Advance Pierre Foods based out of Enid, Oklahoma is recalling approximately 1,200 pounds of chicken fried chicken breasts that may contain small pieces of metal, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Hazelwood School District (HSD) is partnering with Republic Services for a community electronic waste recycling drive. Residents are encouraged to drop off unwanted electronics for proper recycling a either of the district's two January events. Items that can be recycled include anything with a plug or battery. Time is winding down for residents to submit their payments for 2011 real estate and personal property taxes. Missouri state law requires real property and personal property taxes to be paid by Dec. 31, 2012. This means taxes must be paid and or postmarked to St. Louis County Collector of Revenue by Dec. 31 to avoid interest and penalties accrued on it. The 2013 Ford Escape is undergoing its fourth recall since its introduction this spring. Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 89,000 new Escape SUVs and Fusion sedans because the engines can overheat and cause fires. The Escape is a top seller for Ford. The 2013 version went on sale in the spring, and it already has had problems with coolant leaks, cracked fuel lines and carpet padding.
