Welcome back, Patch Blogger!
Today America remembers the Sept. 11 attacks in New York and Washington D.C. Patch spoke with several people affected by the attacks. Jeffrey Springer from Olivette, was in the World Trade Center when it was hit. He worked as a senior manager for Morgan Stanley on the day of the attack; he now works as a manager for a Philadelphia-based investment firm. All week, the United Way and its agencies will be in St. Louis area communities helping in some way, whether it's cleaning up a cemetery, picking up trash or helping senior citizens with home repairs. "We have 140 projects throughout the region in a 10-day span," said Evan Krauss, the United Way's volunteer center manager. "We can take as many as 2,000 volunteers on Sept…
Where were you on 9/11? What do you remember? Email Hazelwood Patch a picture with a few lines, a few paragraphs or a few pages with what you remember from your day nearly a decade ago, or how your life has changed since then. In the alternative, you may want to share what you think about 9/11 after a decade has passed. Or do you even think about 9/11 at all? Maybe you were a youngster and are just now studying it as U.S. history? However you tackle it, Patch wants to post it on the 10-year anniversary of 9/11. Did you stop driving a gas consuming vehicle? Did you adopt a child that lost his …
