Take a tour of the BAT Van right here!
A few words from Hazelwood Police Chief Carl Wolf on holiday safety and partying.

This was an exciting week in Hazelwood. The Hazelwood West High varsity boys basketball team had a thrilling win at the Warrior Classic at St. Charles West High School on Friday, following a major defeat the week prior in the Pattonville Varsity Boys Basketball Tournament.

The Hazelwood Police Department also announced a DWI checkpoint that occurred this past weekend, and unveiled a new Breath Alcohol Testing (BAT) van. The BAT van was used over the weekend in the DWI checkpoint.

Students at Hazelwood West High showed their support of those in need in the community by adopting 15 families in need. Because of student's generosity, the families and children will have a Christmas.

Local students also showed off their literary and artistic talent and local students has ornaments which they created featured on the National Christmas Tree at the White House. Students also displayed great oratorical skills this weekend in a competition that payed homage to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

If you missed out on any of this don't worry, Hazelwood has plenty more going on this week. Be sure to check Hazelwood Patch throughout the week as we bring coverage of Tuesday's Hazelwood School Board and Wednesday's Hazelwood City Council meetings, as well as high school basketball and Christmas themed-concert coverage.
