Viewfinder: Hazelwood's Art Fair and Used Book Sale Enlightens
Fine art and used literature vie for your attention at the Hazelwood Community Center.
On June 4, the Hazelwood Community Enrichment Commission hosted its 8th Annual Community Art Fair and Used Book Sale. The event was held in the gymnasium of the Hazelwood Community Center located in White Birch Park.
Artists aged 16 and older could enter up to 10 pieces created in any medium so long as the result was not a sculpture, photo or computer generated image. Those participating where given free t-shirts, as well as the opportunity to sell the work.
The exhibition was juried in four categories:
- Landscape/Still Life
- Real Life
- Fantasy/Science Fiction
- Abstract/Non-Objective
Cash prizes were awarded to some of the art fair’s 31 preregistered artists.

James, not sure why you did not hear about it. We had an announcement and an event listing on the art exhibition posted on the site back in early May and at the end of May. http://hazelwood.patch.com/events/hazelwoods-8th-annual-community-art-fair-used-book-sale. You have to come back and read Patch more often. There's a lot of good content here! ; )
