Saturday is Public Lands Day
Looking to use your greener side to help the environment? Come out to a public lands days event.
You can be part of more than 180,000 volunteers across the nation expected to participate in the National Public Lands Day, Saturday.
Volunteers of all ages will be giving their time and energy to support local, state and national parks on Saturday. Find a place in North County to volunteer. There are a few in Ferguson.
Stop by your favorite , lake, wildlife preserves, or to help out with making them a little cleaner. The nationwide initiative will help improve and restore the lands and facilities typically used for recreation, education, exercise and just plain enjoyment.
This year marks the 18th annual National Public Lands Day, an event that brings together thousands of volunteers from coast to coast to improve and restore the lands and facilities that Americans use for recreation, education, exercise and relaxation. NPLD has provided more than $15 million in contributed services by volunteers annually to public lands.
Eight federal agencies will participate along with more than 250 state, county, and city partners and a host of nonprofit groups, including the Boy Scouts of America, The Girl Scouts of the USA, Student Conservation Association and The Corps Network.
